What is a full mouth reconstruction and who may be a candidate?

Do you ever wish that you had a smile that you could confidently show off? That you never had to worry about what you looked like or whether or not anyone is staring at your teeth?

With a lost or chipped tooth or two, the fix is relatively easy. You just talk to your dentist about implants or other simple solutions, and soon you have the smile you want.

But, if you have a lot of tooth loss, decay, and damage, your smile may seem like it is beyond repair. Fortunately, there’s a solution to this problem.  If your smile requires a fair bit of work to get it back to normal, you can have a full mouth reconstruction.

A full mouth reconstruction can help restore your confidence and give you back function in your mouth. Without difficulty chewing, maintaining good oral health, and other problems that you may face with significant damage to your teeth and other parts of your mouth, you can lead a pain-free, happier life.

The full mouth restoration treatment plan is customized to fit your needs. It can address all aspects of tooth decay, damage, or loss to help revive your smile and restore your confidence. Your treatment plan may include dentures, dental implants, or dental crowns and bridges.

Dr. Hervas will design the treatment to include all of the procedures necessary to correct your smile. It’s a combination of restorative dentistry techniques that addresses issues with both the gums and teeth.

What Treatments Are Involved?

Dentures

These help to replace dental arches with prosthetics made with realistic acrylic teeth.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are attached to the teeth adjacent to any gaps that you may have. It can help close your smile and prevent bacteria and germs from getting trapped in the gap, which can lead to additional complications in the future.

Dental Crowns

These high-quality crowns are used to replace missing teeth and strengthen existing teeth.

Dental Implants

Dental plants help to anchor your restoration. Through a safe surgical procedure, these are used to correct gaps and other issues.

Overdentures

This option allows you to remove your dentures while still having secure, implant support.

Full mouth reconstruction is a big deal. The procedures can take months and the treatment times can be strenuous. But if you have a significant number of issues with your teeth and gums, you could benefit from this comprehensive, customized plan.

Of course, you should always start by consulting your dentist. Learn about your options for your situation and determine whether or not this treatment is for you.
